A2 Group (18-20 mph): Brisk to vigorous riding requiring solid bike handling skills. Riders are expected to contribute cooperatively to the group within their abilities. This group will typically ride in a double pace line. No drop; regrouping may occur.
B/C Group (14-16 mph): Moderate, sightseeing and destination-oriented riding. The group regroups frequently and a sweep may be appointed. This group will typically ride in a single pace line. Riders should be capable of completing at least 30 miles. No drop.

RIDE ESSENTIALS
These are the most important rules every rider should know before rolling out. For complete ride guidelines, beginner tips, and detailed safety information, view our Complete Ride Guidelines (PDF).

  1. Keep your head up and eyes on the road.
  2. Never overlap wheels and maintain a safe following distance.
  3. Obey all traffic laws – stop at all stop signs and traffic lights.
  4. Yield to pedestrians.
  5. Follow the rider in front of you.
  6. Call out hazards, turns, and intentions clearly.
  7. Do not yell “Clear” at intersections – each rider checks for themselves.
  8. If you are struggling in the paceline, drop to the back – do not open a gap.
  9. In the double paceline, call “Change” when rotating. Front left calls “Clear” before the front right rider merges over.
  10. End-of-ride sprints are welcome in the last two miles when the road is clear and traffic is light.

CANCELLATION
If a ride is cancelled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, this website will be updated with a cancellation notice at least 1½ hours before the scheduled start time. CBTC members will also receive an email notification.
